But if it’s National Donut Day? That’s a sprinkle-covered YES.
Did you know donuts have an official day to celebrate? Well, that would be tomorrow (always the first Friday of June) — and we’re going all in over here with frosting, sprinkles, and over-the-top toppings. Because let’s be real… we donut need a reason to party. But when it’s National Donut Day and the donuts are calling? We answer. Loudly. With sprinkle donut plates and gold forks in hand.
I had every intention of baking the cutest donuts with Henry for National Donut Day — glaze, sprinkles, the works. I even had the table decorated: pink, gold, confetti, inflatable donuts, the whole nine.
But here’s the truth: I try to be domestic. I really do. But baking and I? We’ve got a complicated relationship. Cupcakes? I can crush those. Sugar cookies? Yes, ma’am. But donuts? Turns out, I put a little too much love (read: batter) into those donut pans.
They rose. And rose. And… overflowed.
The tops baked over, the bottoms baked unevenly, and before I knew it — our donut dreams were more like donut blobs.

So we’re pivoting. Tomorrow we’re heading to Pinkbox Doughnuts or Krispy Kreme, because baked or bought — we’re still celebrating with sprinkles.

Real Talk
Sometimes the homemade version isn’t what makes the memory. It’s the laughter, the frosting smears, the donut run in 100° Vegas heat with your favorite little people.
We believe in the beauty of effort, even when it doesn’t go as planned. Some days are homemade. Others are drive-thru. Both can be special. And that, my friends, is still a party.
